Happy Birthday Kimberly!!

Kimberly came home from her mom's this last weekend and we had her party a few days early. She had two of her good friends over, Destiny and Cayleigh. They started out the night with a good old scavenger hunt.

The girls went door to door in the neighborhood...
and even scavenged in backyards and gardens! It was a lot of fun and they got to know some of our neighbors. They were back in 20 minutes and had every single item on the 30 item list!

After the scavenger hunt they found a little friend... Toad-a-liscious... and they made him a little home! The next day they found the lid open and an empty home... Toady got out!! :-(

Instead of cake Kimberly requested cupcakes and wanted to decorate them as an activity. Here is Kali biting into a cupcake... the wrong way!

She was poking sticks into the cupcakes. She saw the big kids poking their cupcakes to put candy under the frosting. She's so funny!!!

Nathan was acting so goofy with Kimberly's new bracelets. Daddy didn't want this one posted. Funny that I'm the only one with the password!! :-)

Crib Time

Kali wanted in her bed the other morning to play. She wouldn't get out and kept telling me bye bye mama.

First Day of School!!

Nathan started school Tuesday, September 19th. He's on his own this year since Kimberly decided to try things out in Independence with her mom. We'll see how that goes and if she comes back next year as she has already predicted. Back to Nathan... he did really well his first morning. Over the summer he has changed a bit a no longer is a breakfast kind of guy. I worry about his concentration with not eating but he assures me it will be ALL GOOD! So.. here are some pics from waiting for the bus.

Camping trip to remember!

When the boys couldn't camp out on Saturday, Mike promised that he would camp with Kimberly and Nathan on Monday night when I didn't have to work Tuesday. So, we left the tent up and here are the getting ready pics!!

I think we woke Kimberly up to go outside... she was ready in no time though!

This is how Mike dresses in the winter to stay warm. I think someone forgot to tell him that it's still August and that it's only going to get down into the mid 60s tonight! What a good laugh!

While he was dancing we were singing "We represent the Lolly Pop Kid!" He'll have something smart to say when he sees I posted this picture... oh well! It was a funny night!

TUESDAY MORNING UPDATE!

Well, they got out to the tent... with Kitty as an extra guest... and also found anther unwanted guest... a wasp! After Tonto, AKA Nathan, battled the wasp to the death they were all hungry and fired up. I found Mike sleeping on the couch when I got up to get Kali a drink at 4:30. He said that he was too hot in his winter get up!! Kimberly and Nathan were in their beds! Good try guys!!

Happy Birthday Nathan!!

For Nathan's birthday we had a little party and he had two friends over. The plan was to sleep in the tent but with the threat of stormy weather we nixed the idea. We had a good dinner, cookie cake and ice cream, and as you'll see below played a little game of "Chubby Bunnies!" The way you play is you take big marshmallows and put on in your mouth and say 1 chubby bunny, then another and say 2 chubby bunnies... and so on! It's pretty funny to see people nearly gag themselves to get just one more marshmallow in their mouth. In all Kimberly won over the kids and I beat all of them... sorry no pics of the winner!! :-)

Kimberly ended up with 4 Chubby Bunnies and would have gone for 5 except she nearly threw up on the patio with 4! Nathan couldn't stop laughing and had to stop at 3.. they are weak!! A real pro...me... had to show them how it's done! I had 5 chubby bunnies!!

Cool cookie cake huh? These kids today and their "skull" decor!!The cookie cake was yummy and Nathan got a lot of iTune's and Target gift cards.... I asked him if he wanted to take me shopping!!

Grandma and Papa Coldwell came over to enjoy Nathan's party and brought an early birthday present for Kali as well... A Dora tricycle.

Potty training update...

Well, I am not having an easy go round with this potty training stuff! Over the last 2 days Kali has sat on the potty for 20 minute intervals... 5 or 6 times... and then had to put on clean panties 5 or 6 times!! She is so stubborn!! I will sit and read with her and we play dolls while she sits on the potty. I even ask her to please just try to peepee and so then she'll "push" so hard that her face turns red. All that she's done in the potty is toot... of which she thinks is sooooo funny! Yep, she's a Foley! So anyhow, she'll sit and tell me NO when I ask if she needs to peepee... then gets up to play and comes over to show me that her panties are wet!! What a stinker!! Any suggestions? I'm just gonna drop it, for the most part, for now. Maybe put her on the potty while the tub is filling up. I think she really isn't ready and maybe we should do the pull up route? Hmmmm, we'll see. Maybe one day she'll just sit down and do her business and that will be it? One could only hope!

Busy Morning!!

Kali woke up this morning and hit the ground running! She has had so much energy in the mornings these days... maybe she's drinking my coffee when I'm not watching? Anyhow, enjoy the pictures!!

Kali just LOVES bandaids... but not to wear. She likes to open the package, look at them, take off this sticky covers, and wad them up! I caught her in the act this morning. She was running around in her diaper and looking so cute!!

Grandma Coldwell snuck in an early birthday present this week... a Dora chair!! When we got home with it last night she was so excited to sit in it... not so excited when she fell out of it a few minutes later! As Grandma put it, she won't have very far to fall! Doesn't she look so big in this chair!! I can't believe she's almost 2!!

New "Friend"

While trading out Kimberly and Nathan's rooms the other day, Kali discovered a baby doll's binkie! And of course Kali thought it was the coolest thing! So here are some pictures of her lovin' or rather chewing on that baby binkie!

It's just about that time...

We are about ready for potty training!! I bought Miss Kali a Diego potty, and Dora potty seat to put on the big potty, and new panties!! She LOVED picking out which pair to put on. She still isn't took keen on sitting on the potty but... we'll get there!!

She loved her panties... and kept them dry for a hour! I got nervous because I didn't want her to wet on the clean sheets... so I put a diaper back on her!!

Still lovin' that car!!!

It never fails! We go anywhere near the garage and Kali yells... Car... Car!! She still won't "walk" the car but she loves to sit in it in the grass. She walks to the door, opens the door, shuts the door, then blows me a kiss and says, "Bye Mama!!" What a cute pie!!

We keep finding Kitty Kitty in the car! I asked to see her license and this is the

look she gave me!! :-)

Daddy Time

About a week ago Kali and Daddy had a very full day together!! I know, most dads have days alone with their kids all the time. Well, Mike is very buys with school and work. Being that he works from home he works when he has work to do. Sooooo, when I am at work, Kali goes to Nana and Papa Foley's before lunch time. In all, Daddy has not had a full day alone with Kali since she was still taking formula... that's almost a year!!! Anyhow, they started off their day with hot cakes at McDonald's and then headed off to the shoe store where Kali suckered her dear old dad into two pairs of Dora tennis shoes. They so soooo cute and she loves them very very much! Then, Daddy and Kali caught the last hour of Shrek 3 playing at the theatre. Belton has a summer movie series for camps and such, it's only a dollar, and it's always older movies. Shrek is one of Kali's all time favorites and so she sat on Daddy's lap and didn't fuss one bit! What a big girl!! After the movie they came home and shared some Dora chicken noodle soup... yummy! Papa Foley stopped by to do some tinkering and when he was done Mike asked Kali if he could "go to work" for the afternoon and she go nap with Papa. She looked at daddy and said: No! So, to round out the day Daddy and Kali took a 3 hour nap together and when I got home from work we went out for pizza. That night Kali wanted Daddy probably 75% of the time. It was so sweet and I loved that she was so in love with her Daddy for that whole day!!
