4th Annual Haunted Halloween Party

Ahh, the party has come and gone! We started out this tradition 4 years ago when Mike promised a haunted house in the garage. We threw it together over night and the kids loved it! Now that we've come this far it takes a month of planning and then many nights of construction. The kids go nuts when they can't come into the garage because it's a surprise! Oh what a good time we had!!
The spread! We had hot dogs, hamburgers, bone shaped bread sticks, choc covered pretzels, body part jello from Grandma Coldwell, frog eye roll-ups, veggies and dip, rotel, and lots of chips and popcorn! What a good time. Nana Foley and Tisha made wonderful cookies and brownies. All of our guests brought fabulous snacks to share. Thanks guys and we can't wait till next year!!
Kaelyn was a 50s waitress... so cute!!
When everyone started going through the haunted house Cayleigh from down the street didn't have anyone to go with. Everyone was too scared! Soooo, I said I'd go. The trick there was that I had gone through it many many times while they were making it!! I have to say that they did an amazing job!! The haunted house took: 1 gallon of fake blood, 4 tombstones, 1 bale of hay, 12 rolls of gorilla tape, 60 dresser sized boxes, and 4 30 something guys having a good old time!! The kids were scared and lovin it! Most of them asked if they could come back again next year. There were only 3 kids that refused to go through. That tells me it was a success!! :-)
Cayleigh eventually went through by herself.
The boys were more scared than their faces revealed in this picture. Here is Nathan in the back and Kyle up front.
And this is what was chasing them out of the haunted house!! I hear that Sean had some serious knee swelling after that night!!
We tried to do bobbing for apples as kids were coming out of the haunted house. Well, once the big kids got around to the barrel no one wanted to eat the apples. Kali and Landon decided that the game was all about grabbing the apples, biting the apples, then dropping the apples! If they weren't so cute while they were doing it I would have stopped them!
"Which one do we eat next?" Do you see the bite marks?
So nice that they can share! Actually I think that Kali was trying to take the apple from Landon. She has turned into a little diva...it's all for her!
Aftermath of "Toddler Apple Bobbing"! She was soaking wet and shivering. Time for some warm jammies!
I tried to take a cute picture of Kiley and the kids and well... Nathan jumped in! This was one of the masks in the haunted house!! Creepy huh?
Before bed Kali decided to stir up the popcorn treats and "dish" them out for later! This was sooo yummy! I took a bag of freshly popped corn, still hot, and dropped it into a big bowl. Then I dumped half a bag of chocolate chips, half a bag of marshmallows, and gold fish into the bowl and mixed it up! It was a huge hit!!

Stickers

For some strange reason if you give Kali stickers this is what she does with them!! Enjoy!!

Pumpkin Festival

Belton has a little "Pumpkin Festival" every year in the Fall and this year it was just me and Kali to go. She was alright with that because she made some new friends!!
Kali made lots of friends that night!! One in particular was this goat in the petting zoo. He was kind of a bully and wouldn't let any of the other goats get a snack. Kali was okay with that though because he was her friend!!
The best part was that we were able to bring one of her friends home with us! She really wanted Dora to sit in the car seat but eventually settled for next to the car seat!
**Sad to say but Dora popped two days after this photo!**

Bike Update...

Well, it happened! This weekend when Kimberly was home she did what no one else could do... she taught Nathan to RIDE HIS BIKE!!! I don't have any pictures as of yet but don't you worry, they will be coming soon!! He's so funny. Mike went out to watch him on Sunday and kept reminding him to look out in front of him a few yards instead of looking at his front tire. Just as he looked up he ran into the fire hydrant. Another time he forgot to use his break and side swiped a telephone pole. Go figure! Before he was scared to even try to ride his bike for fear of falling off and getting hurt... now I worry for the mailboxes and light poles in our neighborhood. In short he is sooooo happy and can't understand why he didn't learn earlier... I guess that parents are sometimes right??!!

Kali and her Shisher!

Kimberly was home this weekend and Kali got some serious play time in. They get so silly together and can play for hours.
Silly sisters! Kali kept trying to pick Kimberly up. She was grunting and calling her "heaby"!!
This is one of Kimberly's many entrances into the bedroom! She kept going out into the loft and then rushing in to make Kali laugh and squeal!! I believe that this one caused her to crash on the carpet a couple of times!
This one is funny and kinda scary at the same time!
If Kali's crying Kimberly just needs to make this face and she stops. I think I saw this face 100 times this weekend. She made the face all weekend, even when Kali wasn't crying!
This face was paired with a big squeal!
She didn't want me to post this but I just HAD to! Kimberly kept coming up with new ways to rush into Kali's room to scare her and make her laugh. This one was the most creative... and the strangest.
Now is Kali's turn to race in and scare Kimberly. She was growling and of course the tongue was sticking out as is always!!

Soccer Cuties

With working my weekends and having a bye week I finally got to a soccer game two weeks ago. So far they are undefeated after 5 games. Three more to go!

My camera isn't great for action shots so these are all that I have for now! Aren't they soooo cute?

Snack Time

A guaranteed snack that Kali will always eat is a tortilla. Pull one out of the fridge and she comes running... she will eat most of one of these burrito sized shells!

This is Kali's newest obsession... she likes to like up all of her letters on the fridge. I like to mix up the letters and see how long it takes her to notice and then fix them again! :-)

Almost there...

Nathan and Mike have been working on conquering the bike. Nathan can almost get going! He's always been so afraid of falling and getting hurt. We got him a new bike this summer and he's finally interested in learning. So... hopefully I'll have a different picture to show soon!!

Welcome Little Sophia Asante

Welcome to the world little Sophia Julianna Asante! Mike's cousin had her baby 3 weeks early, a week before the Foley's threw her a shower. Sooooo that just meant that we had a little guest of honor. What a sweet tiny baby! We at a fabulous brunch thanks to Nana Foley and Miss Sophia took a little nap. Enjoy the pictures.

Silly Kaelyn! She and Kali were bouncing off of the couches while us ladies were preparing brunch! Check out the sucker that was fueling her! :-)

Sophia slept through all of the kisses that Kali was giving her. She was mesmerized by her little hand on her cheek. She was amazingly gentle with her. That's good to know for the future...

She sleeping...

Four generations plus Kali and Kaelyn had to get in on the photo op! Cute kids are always seeking out the cameras!! Look at how tiny Sophia is next to tiny Kali! Maybe Kali isn't so little to me anymore!

Dora Keeps on Going!!

This picture was taken 3 weeks after Kali's birthday when she got this Dora balloon. She keeps finding new ways to play with the slowly deflating Dora! Here I put Dora under the baker's rack since it still had enough air to float up to our vaulted ceiling where she would stay until completely deflating... which would lead to lots of crying at our house. So anyhow, Dora found herself a friend and apparently someone to feed her! Kali climbed her little tooshie under the baker's rack herself and got comfy!! She's so funny!!

Helping Daddy

Kali loves to ride the tractor with Daddy. She will stand at the back door and wait patiently... okay not patiently... until I take her out and put her on his lap. On this day Baby got a ride too!
