Cookie Central

We made Christmas cookies Tuesday night before Christmas and boy was it an adventure. After we got the prepackaged dough out I realized that i had everything except for cutters!! :- It was interesting. We used skewers to cut out our shapes... which didn't work out very well but we made due!
Who wants to help clean up this mess??
Kali liked that I had a bowl of flour on the table!

She also LOVED using the rolling pin! Poor Nathan.. he made the perfect pac-man and she flattened it right away!! :-)
Kimberly was soooo careful with shaping her cookies.
Kali not so much...
Nathan took the little bit of everything approach.
And then we named it the "Sugar Turd!"
She was so proud of her cookies. She did a great job!!
Kali wanted to lick all of the icing off of Santa's face! Funny girl!

Snow Angel...

A couple of years ago I dared Nathan to run out into the snow without a shirt and do a snow angel! It was his time again!! What a good sport...

How much is that Kitty in the Christmas tree??

This year Kitty was obsessed with actually climbing up into the tree. Can you spot her??

Luckily the tree never did fall down!

Party Girl!!

Kali and I went to Adrienne and Brent's wedding last weekend. It was BEAUTIFUL! She was a stunning bride and he was so handsome and glowing when he saw his new wife. We wish them nothing but happiness!
The ceremony was beautiful and for the most part Kali was quiet.
After eating some good grub Kali was ready for cake! The only problem was that they hadn't cut the cake yet. Kai threatened to stick her finger in the cake when Brent offered up the slice that he had just cut. That's right, they were at the head table eating cake before everyone else. I guess that's a perk to it being YOUR wedding! Anyhow, Brent had taken one bit of cake and then offered it up to Kali. SO here she is sitting on the floor chowing down on her cake! Thanks guys so much... it really made her day!!
She did leave me one or two bites and I have to say that it was AMAZING!!
Kali was so sweet when it came time to say goodbye to Adrienne. She gave her a big kiss on the cheek and this big hug! What a big girl!!
On the way to the car Kali found this huge leaf... she thought she was big time! It's bigger than her head.

Splish Splash!

Little Pee-wee was taking a bath the other morning and I couldn't figure out why she was screaming... well here it is. She can entertain herself with just about anything these days. She was looking in the shower mirror and screaming at her reflection. Crazy kid!

Dancing Diva

Mike is very proud to know that Kali loves rock music! I finally captured her little dancing feet... and her droopy diaper!! Enjoy.

Gingerbread... er graham cracker... houses '08!

We attempted to make our version of gingerbread houses with graham crackers this weekend. Mike does not have a house represented because it is still under construction. Being as he draws house plans for a living you can expect a pretty extravagant house when it's all said and done! Until then here are three exciting houses to entertain you all!
Kimberly and Destiny made this work of art! They decided that a flat roof was more sturdy? Um do you notice that the entire right side is collapsed?? I think that they may rethink that idea next year??!!
This is Nathan's house. He went for the barn look. He says that the candy on top is similar to the Plaza Lights! I like the element of the open barn door!

Here is the house that Kali and I constructed! It's kind of bare because she started to
throw a fit and we didn't get o finish. Oh well! Check out my mailbox!! :-)

Silly Kitty!!

Kitty loves to get into small spaces! This bin was on the floor in our bedroom with an old backpack in it... random yes I know... and low and behold we found her sleeping in it! I heard Coco whining standing outside of the bin! She LOVES to torture Coco!!

Time to decorate for Christmas!

We put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and it was fun! We got a new 9 foot tree this year and I found that I almost didn't have enough decorations for it!
I'm having a hard time keeping that darn star straight on the top of the tree!
Here's the three little Foley's... Kali, Kimberly, and cousin Kaelyn. This is a classic Foley Christmas time picture. Aren't they cute??!!

Winter Wonderland!?

Last weekend we got a package in the mail that was full of packing peanuts. As a diversionary measure to get out of the door without Kali I settled her in our room with the box. Mike soon called me on my cell phone thanking me for sharing the packing peanuts with her. Of course I told him he HAD to document the fun!! I guess she was treating the foam peanuts like they were snow flakes! What and imagination!!

This is the aftermath of our bedroom! Kimberly was a champ and helped clean them up... after she herself tried to make a snow-angel! Too bad I didn't get a picture of that one!! :-)

Coco... look at what I found!!

We took a walk to the back yard the other day and Kali found a little branch off of a tree... and then thought it would be funny to smack the ground and threaten to smack Coco-Baby with the stick! He actually appears to be having fun with it... maybe because she never actually made contact with his head like I'm sure she intended too! Kind of rough play but cute none the less!

Enjoy the weather before it's gone!

With Christmas comes the very long aisle of animals that sing and dance to Christmas songs! Kali has taken a serious liking to these little fellas! Here she is pushing her newest doggie around in her stroller the other day. The temp outside was 50-ish and we weren't about to let it go to waste. I had to stop and push his paw occasionally... she loved it!

Crazy bath hair!

Check out that crazy hair do!! Kali's hair is getting so long and when we get lucky she lets us put it up dry too!

Target Shooting

Nathan has a bee-bee gun that he has hardly ever used. The other day he brought it up and so we set up a target just off the patio and here we are. Nathan went dove hunting with Mike, Grandpa Coldwell, Uncle Chuck, Uncle Chad, and Uncle Ray back in September. We're hoping to get him into a hunter safety course soon so we can be sure that he respects the power of guns.
Daddy had to make sure that it was working right! :-)
Nathan taking a shot.
Kali wanted a turn! She had to stay on the "observation deck" while Daddy and Nathan were target shooting. She was not too happy about it but we got through it eventually!

Kali said "Nathan how come Daddy's shots are closer to the middle?"

Nathan says "See look... Mine are in the middle... and Daddy's are NOT!"

Alone Time

Sometimes when I'm cooking or cleaning in the kitchen, Kali makes her way to Coco's Corner! As toys have moved into every corner of the living room... Coco's bed has made it's way to the kitchen. This day Kali found her little hat from California Nana, of which is way too small, and I just had to snap some pictures. This is what she does when she has her alone time, her quiet time. She seems to have such a good time with such a simple "toy". Funny girl!

She caught on that I was snapping pictures! Check out that look!!

YEAH!!

Okay so most you know know that Mike works in the residential design business.... and most of you know know not so lucrative that market is these days..... and also most of you know that he's in school for Web Design. WELL... today Mike went on an interview for a job as an entry level programmer at and E-Commerce company. You know, the companies that set up the ability for on-line shoppers to punch in that little number at the bottom of your plastic card to buy something off of a website. Anyhow, it's the start of something wonderful! Just in time for Christmas too!! :-) Cross your fingers guys... we could really use another steady paycheck.

Halloween Night

Okay so we all have an idea of how we want things to go right? Well they didn't go how I planned, that's for sure! I had to work on Halloween and dressed up and had a good day. When I got home I found that Nathan wasn't feeling well and didn't want to trick or treat. Kimberly had taken off to hang out with her friends down the street, and Kali wanted no part of her costume!! So, no pictures of the ladybug costume... yet! I don't care what the season, if I can get her into the costume again I will take a picture and post it. Kali did get to go trick or treating and had a good time! Uncle Ray, Aunt Tisha, Kaelyn, and Joseph all came over and we went trick or treating up and down the street. Kali wore her pumpkin shirt and matching pants and yes still looked cute! I am posting the picture of her and I from the Halloween party the Saturday before because this is what she wore. I was wearing my scrubs last night but still the wings and antenna so it's almost exactly the same! In the middle of the night Kali woke up and was cranky but at the same time was begging for "Trick or Treat!" I guess that means she had a good time??

Pumpkin Patch Sweetie Pie!

I took Kali to Johnson's Farm last Tuesday. It's a pumpkin patch/petting zoo and lots of other stuff. Kimberly and Nathan seem to be getting too old for the pumpkin patch, so it was just Kali and me while Nathan was at school. She had so much fun!!!
She LOVED LOVED LOVED the chicken house!
She kept chasing the gray and white one pointing to him and saying "I want dat un!" So cute!! She eventually caught up to him and was able to touch his back. That got a big giggle out of her!
Inside of the barn was a bunch of little surprises. This was was a little donkey. Kali wanted to take him out and love on him. Go figure they said no! :-) We also saw a little pony, baby chicks, and a new litter of piglets! I was afraid to take pictures of the piglets because the huge mama pig was laying up next to the babies on the other side of the gate and I didn't want her to charge at me. She was soooo big!
Goats were her favorite... she loved it that they would get up on the fence and let her hug them. I was a big nervous when they were up in her face and so I wasn't able to take a picture of that... I was afraid of one nibbling on one of those cute little ears!!
She was a huge fan of the big pumpkins! And look at how cute she looks sitting on them!
I wish I could have filmed her running through the patch. She kept oohing and ahhing at so many different pumpkins. Even the ones that were smashed and eaten off of got her attention. The biggest crowd pleasers are by far the "baby punkins" for sure. She ended up picking out the cutest little round pie pumpkin. She caries it around the house all day long. I tried to put it out on the porch and she wasn't having it!!
To get up to the actual pumpkin patch we got to ride on a cart pulled by a tractor. On the way up Kali thought she was hot stuff and stood the whole time. I had to hold her hands and so there is no picture... but here she is riding back. She was too tired to stand! :0)
One quick plane ride before we head home for a nap!

4th Annual Haunted Halloween Party

Ahh, the party has come and gone! We started out this tradition 4 years ago when Mike promised a haunted house in the garage. We threw it together over night and the kids loved it! Now that we've come this far it takes a month of planning and then many nights of construction. The kids go nuts when they can't come into the garage because it's a surprise! Oh what a good time we had!!
The spread! We had hot dogs, hamburgers, bone shaped bread sticks, choc covered pretzels, body part jello from Grandma Coldwell, frog eye roll-ups, veggies and dip, rotel, and lots of chips and popcorn! What a good time. Nana Foley and Tisha made wonderful cookies and brownies. All of our guests brought fabulous snacks to share. Thanks guys and we can't wait till next year!!
Kaelyn was a 50s waitress... so cute!!
When everyone started going through the haunted house Cayleigh from down the street didn't have anyone to go with. Everyone was too scared! Soooo, I said I'd go. The trick there was that I had gone through it many many times while they were making it!! I have to say that they did an amazing job!! The haunted house took: 1 gallon of fake blood, 4 tombstones, 1 bale of hay, 12 rolls of gorilla tape, 60 dresser sized boxes, and 4 30 something guys having a good old time!! The kids were scared and lovin it! Most of them asked if they could come back again next year. There were only 3 kids that refused to go through. That tells me it was a success!! :-)
Cayleigh eventually went through by herself.
The boys were more scared than their faces revealed in this picture. Here is Nathan in the back and Kyle up front.
And this is what was chasing them out of the haunted house!! I hear that Sean had some serious knee swelling after that night!!
We tried to do bobbing for apples as kids were coming out of the haunted house. Well, once the big kids got around to the barrel no one wanted to eat the apples. Kali and Landon decided that the game was all about grabbing the apples, biting the apples, then dropping the apples! If they weren't so cute while they were doing it I would have stopped them!
"Which one do we eat next?" Do you see the bite marks?
So nice that they can share! Actually I think that Kali was trying to take the apple from Landon. She has turned into a little diva...it's all for her!
Aftermath of "Toddler Apple Bobbing"! She was soaking wet and shivering. Time for some warm jammies!
I tried to take a cute picture of Kiley and the kids and well... Nathan jumped in! This was one of the masks in the haunted house!! Creepy huh?
Before bed Kali decided to stir up the popcorn treats and "dish" them out for later! This was sooo yummy! I took a bag of freshly popped corn, still hot, and dropped it into a big bowl. Then I dumped half a bag of chocolate chips, half a bag of marshmallows, and gold fish into the bowl and mixed it up! It was a huge hit!!
